British Virgin Islands
ASA 104 Course and Vacation
December 8-15, 2016
(Possible late January date based on interest)
REGISTER BY: Sept 1, 2016
The B.V.I.s are an amazing chain of islands only a few miles from each other. We'll visit places like The Baths & Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda, Foxy's Bar on Jost Van Dyke, Copper Island, snorkel at The Indians and so much more. Get your ASA 104 certification or simply enjoy a week in the Caribbean.
LOCATION - Your sailing yacht will depart and return to Tortola, B.V.I.
DECEMBER PRICE - $1,650* per person in a shared cabin (booking as a couple or as friends). $2,820* per person in a solo cabin (coming solo, wanting a cabin solo). If you would like to come solo and be matched to share a cabin, the price will be $1,650 but you will be on a standby list until you are matched. . DEPOSITS DUE BY AUGUST 8th for December trip. Prices subject to change based on yacht choice or preferred week in December. *Prices can vary a little depending on group size and vessel size.
WHAT'S INCLUDED - Food (see details), taxes, park fees, nightly mooring fees, snorkeling gear, linens, and fuel. Does not include transportation, alcohol, shoreside food/bev, instructor (captain) gratuity. Qualifying ASA 104 participants +$100.
FOOD - Your food aboard is all included. This is 7 Breakfasts, 7 Lunches, and 5 Dinners. Each vessel can decide how they would like to split the food preparation duties. There is no chef on these sails, it's a shared (and fun) task amongst the sailors.
FLIGHTS - We recommend flying into St Thomas (STT) then taking the ferry over to Tortola. You can fly directly into Tortola (EIS) however the costs are usually double and the travel times are very long. The last ferry to Tortola leaves St Thomas at 4:15pm. If you are arriving on Saturday make sure you land by 2:45pm to allow time for baggage claim and taxi to ferry. United Air from EWR has nice non-stop flights to STT and Delta from JFK has some non-stop options as well.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION - Taxis from the airport to ferry, and ferry to boats are always waiting.
THE BOATS - Right now the boats we have planned the trip around are 4 Cabin, 4 Head (bathroom), 50ft monohull sailboats.
EARLY ARRIVALS - There are numerous lodging options on St Thomas and Tortola if you choose to arrive before Saturday.
